“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”
Kelvin Rampersad,
Carte Wealth Management
Peta Siebert had a clear career plan from the outset: to pursue both professional tennis and a career in business. She has made meaningful progress in each area, reflecting her vision and determination to achieve her goals.
Siebert’s passion for numbers and people led her into banking, where she started as a branch clerk and steadily advanced to increasingly senior positions. As CEO at Manage Your Loans, she is known as a trailblazer for her expertise and influence in driving significant industry change.
MPA recognised Siebert as an Elite Woman of 2024, recognising her energy, depth of knowledge and innovative approach to developing IT systems that streamline the loan writing process and empowering her team to reach their full potential.
“The single biggest achievement of my career is my longevity in the industry, spanning over three decades,” she says. “My ambition was to excel personally and uplift those around me.”
Despite her extensive tenure, Siebert continues to identify new goals and opportunities for success. Her enduring dedication has been fundamental to her sustained success.
She has a keen ability to identify gaps within the market or the networks with which she engages. This approach positively impacts her professional relationships, as collaboration leads to mutual benefit.
“My approach is grounded in the principle of ‘do it once, do it well or don’t do it at all,’” she adds. “My father instilled this mindset in me, always saying, ‘You can do anything you put your mind to.’ This advice has fuelled my tenacity and determination to keep moving forward despite my obstacles.”
Effective communication at all levels is one of the biggest challenges in her CEO role. Siebert works remotely with a diverse team, which can lead to different interpretations of the same conversations. She emphasises using a mix of online and in-person communication strategies, including regular one-on-ones, group meetings, team emails, instant messaging and face-to-face meetings, to build rapport.
As an Elite Woman, Siebert is unwavering in her dedication to inspiring and encouraging other women to succeed through a long-time commitment to mentorship. She leverages her life and professional experiences to offer valuable insights to help aspiring female leaders navigate the ever-evolving mortgage and finance landscape.
“I believe what distinguishes me as an Elite Woman is the culmination of experiences and lessons learned throughout my career,” adds Siebert. “I see this recognition not just as a personal milestone but as an opportunity to contribute further after observing and learning from the journeys of those who paved the way before me.”
Siebert aspires for people to remember her as someone who continuously evolved alongside the finance industry, always at the forefront of innovation and progress. She hopes her legacy will reflect a commitment to embracing and integrating new technologies, forging impactful partnerships and prioritising consumer satisfaction.
“Beyond professional achievements, I strive to leave a legacy of being approachable and supportive, known for nurturing a positive team culture where everyone feels valued and empowered to succeed,” she says. “Central to this legacy is my reputation as a successful businessperson with a strategic mindset, driving personal and organisational growth.”
Ultimately, Siebert envisions a legacy where her contributions have advanced the industry and inspired and empowered others to thrive.
