Peter White, AM is the managing director of the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA). He started working as a volunteer for the company in 2003.
White’s banking and finance career spans over 43 years, covering retail banking, private banking, marketing and distribution in investment banking. He established RAMS Home Loans’ first sales office in 1993. He has also run mortgage management businesses and had several brokerage businesses of his own during his career.
As a strong and passionate advocate for the industry, White spends a significant amount of time with regulators and government officials, as well as being a registered lobbyist in his own right, and is the leading advocate and ambassador for mental health awareness in the finance industry.
In 2016, White established and is the current global chairman for the International Mortgage Brokers Federation, which is a collaboration of industry associations in six countries. He also sits on the Small Business Association of Australia’s advisory board and is a champion and campaigner for the mental health issues and needs of parents of special needs children via his private charity, The Sanity Space Foundation.
White was recognised in the 2019 Queen’s Birthday Honours List with an “AM”, Member of the Order of Australia, for significant services to industry and the community. In 2021, he was awarded Industry Thought Leader of the Year at the Australian Broking Awards. He was also recognised as Wellness Advocate of the Year by The Adviser magazine in 2022.
