“No matter how many clients I have, I make sure to call each one personally every quarter. It’s a chance to not only update them on their portfolio, but also check on how they’re doing personally”

Benjamin Fenley’s journey to becoming one of the Top 100 Brokers has been a mix of preparation, chance and purpose.
Starting in hospitality while studying finance and marketing at university, Fenley honed his people skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, which continue to define his professional approach.
He says, “Deep down, I always knew I wanted to use my financial knowledge to help people achieve security and freedom.”
His career highlights include a 55% year-on-year increase in loans written, achieving $151 million in loan volume in FY24, and growing his loan book to over $330 million. Over and above the numbers, his proudest achievement involves helping a family of seven transform their financial future.
The family had $70,000 in credit card debt, a $250,000 mortgage and an unprofitable investment property. Fenley guided them through a strategic overhaul, enabling them to eliminate bad debt, implement a budget and acquire three investment properties through smart financial planning.
“Seeing the financial habits and education ripple through the entire family and create a generational change is the most rewarding part of this journey,” he says.
His life experiences helped to shape his career path, including extensive travel and walking the Kokoda Trail at 21 as part of a youth leadership program, which taught him resilience, gratitude and the importance of making the most of every opportunity.
A turning point came in 2020 when he attended a Success Resources event. While there to see Richard Branson, Infinity Group founder Graeme Holm made the biggest impression with his contrarian approach to finance that Fenley had never before encountered. Two days later, Fenley applied for a relationship manager role at the brokerage and less than a year later, he progressed to become a finance strategist.
At Infinity Group, Fenley focuses on breaking down misinformation around traditional financial mindsets.
He says, “The biggest challenge in my role is overcoming the traditional mindset many people have about managing their finances. At Infinity, we take a contrarian approach – helping clients pay down their mortgages and eliminate bad debt rather than encouraging refinancing and extending loan terms, which often results in higher interest and fees.”
His strongest professional quality is patience, shaped by his travels and experiences with diverse cultures, such as those he encountered in Nepal, Papua New Guinea and Peru. He has learned the importance of meeting clients where they are and tailoring his approach to their unique needs.
“Everyone comes from different backgrounds and levels of financial knowledge, so I approach every client with empathy and a willingness to keep going until they have that aha! moment,” he says. “When the penny finally drops, it’s one of the most rewarding parts of the job.”
Looking ahead, Fenley is focused on refining his processes to handle growing demand, strengthening his community presence and building his brand on LinkedIn.
With a consistent track record of success, over 120 5-Star reviews on RateMyAgent and a client-first approach, he is helping individuals achieve financial freedom and setting the standard for excellence in the broking industry.
“For me, delivering means helping clients achieve what’s possible and supporting them every step of the way,” Fenley says.
