After earning a commerce degree and spending 15 years in corporate and commercial banking, Adam Rakowski transitioned into mortgage broking in 2016 – a move that has defined his professional journey. In 2019, he founded Ortus Financial, an award-winning brokerage recognised for its consistent growth and client-first philosophy.
Rakowski has earned a place among MPA’s Top 100 Brokers for five consecutive years, driven purely by referral-based business and the loyalty of clients who value his transparent and human approach. He attributes the firm’s success to staying true to its core principles and maintaining personal relationships as the foundation of every deal.
As principal, Rakowski leads a 20-person team providing tailored finance solutions that balance technical expertise with empathy and care. He regards the launch of Ortus Financial and the development of his team as his proudest achievements, taking seriously the responsibility of guiding and supporting them. While his background lies in sales, he has also developed a strong ability to build teams and foster collaboration, creating a culture of accountability and shared purpose.
At home, Rakowski balances a growing business with life as a father of two, navigating what he calls a “never-ending list of commitments.” He continues to expand Ortus Financial’s presence, recently launching a Queensland office with plans to establish representation in every capital city by the end of 2025.
His focus remains on honesty, integrity and genuine connection – values that underpin the brokerage’s 99% client retention rate. For Rakowski, success stems from doing what he says he will do, investing in people, and ensuring every client and partner relationship reflects the authenticity that defines Ortus Financial.
