Chris Tan did not script a grand career path. He worked the opportunity in front of him, did it well, and let consistency build momentum. The result is a practice defined by fairness, reliable delivery and clients who return.
Recognition in MPA’s Top 100 Brokers for 2025 marks that arc. He treats it as proof of trust earned over time with clients and professional partners.
“It’s a reflection of years of hard work and the trust built with clients and partners who’ve grown with me,” he says.
Most new clients arrive through referrals, introductions from people who have seen his approach up close and want the same experience for someone they know.
Fairness sets the tone at Neses Finance. As managing director, Chris treats clients, colleagues and referral partners with equal respect. He communicates openly, gives practical advice and follows through on commitments.
“I focus on building genuine relationships, delivering consistently strong results and letting word-of-mouth be the main driver of growth,” he adds.
Balancing support across clients, the team and partners is the hard part of the role. Chris manages it with empathy, keeping expectations visible, listening first and sharing accountability across the business. Adaptability also helps. He names it as his strongest quality, and it shows in how he adjusts to changing markets and workloads while keeping standards high.
Education and transparency drive satisfaction, as Chris ensures clients are briefed on options, trade-offs and next steps. He stays in touch after settlement, reviews positions as markets move, and makes sure borrowers remain on competitive terms. One-off deals turn into long relationships because the contact continues.
Ask him what powered the past 12 months, and he points to service, noting every client interaction is treated as a partnership. That consistent care and responsiveness have built strong advocacy and sustained growth.

Chris’ day still includes the hands-on work that built his reputation, yet his focus is widening. He is taking on a more strategic role to support brokers and extend the brokerage’s national footprint.
“The goal is to build a firm known not just for results, but for its people and culture,” he adds.
Two habits keep showing up in how he works: do right by the person in front of you and adjust quickly enough to do it again tomorrow. That is the method behind the consistency clients notice and the reason referrals keep coming.
