Isabella Constantinou is proud to be one of the few female brokers who write solely commercial lending transactions. She is helping to lay the foundations for more women to work in this industry.
Constantinou started working in the mortgage broking industry five years ago in a graduate associate position at Simplicity Loans & Advisory while completing her university degree. She spent the first three years as an associate to one of the directors before moving into a broking position in April 2020. Since moving into a broker role and managing her own transactions, she has tackled the impacts of COVID-19 on the industry, the experiences of working in a heavily male-dominated industry, and the intimidation of often being the youngest person in a room with her clients.
In her almost three years of being a broker, Constantinou has settled over $450m in transactions and has been awarded a number of industry accolades. While her work is focused on holistically servicing her clients’ funding needs, her settlement numbers are a testament to her ability to build strong relationships and maintain a portfolio of repeat clients.
In the past 12 months, Constantinou has had exciting professional achievements. She has been recognised as one of MPA’s Rising Stars for 2021 and 2022. She was also recognised as one of MPA’s Top Commercial Brokers for 2022, being the first woman to win the award and quite possibly the youngest as well. Constantinou was also a finalist for the Commercial Broker of the Year award at the Australian Mortgage Awards and has made the MPA’s 2022 Mortgage Global 100 list, which celebrates those in the industry driving forward innovation and striving to improve the mortgage sector. For someone who is 28 years old and has been in the industry for less than five years straight out of university, these are significant personal achievements.
