Kevin Wheatley is the award-winning founder and managing director of Sydney-based Bayside Residential and Commercial Mortgages.
Established in 2009, Bayside is now Australia’s leading residential and commercial loan specialist, settling $234m across all segments in 2022, an increase of 67% year over year. Led by Wheatley’s three decades of business and finance experience, the firm is also highly regarded for its capital raising, construction funding expertise and corporate advisory services.
Wheatley has worked across a wide range of industries, including as a qualified logistician and as a consultant raising capital for numerous international projects. Having navigated multiple economic downturns, he is keenly focused on finding alternative financial solutions for even the most difficult scenarios, offering clients access to financial and insolvency advice through Bayside’s partnership agreements.
Wheatley has earned an impeccable reputation as a construction funding specialist with Tier 1 development companies, resulting in Bayside’s construction loan book growing by 130% to $3bn. In 2023, Wheatley and Bayside commercial relationships manager Rob Taylor jointly created Bayside Invest with the directors of Hargraves Secured Investments.
Wheatley was named Financial Broker of the Year – Commercial in the 2021 Australian Mortgage Awards and is a current finalist for Top Commercial Brokers in the 2023 MFAA Excellence Awards.
