Profile
Luke Radford built his career in agribusiness finance with a deliberate focus on execution. He set out to understand the sector and made a conscious move into debt advisory by establishing Homestead Agribusiness to take on greater accountability and deliver stronger outcomes for clients.
As director, he has built a business known for getting deals done and doing them properly, with his inclusion in MPA’s Top Commercial Brokers 2026 reflecting a year where that consistency delivered in a tighter market.
Execution sits at the core of Radford’s approach. He describes results as coming down to follow-through. In practice, that means staying on top of the detail, maintaining transparency with clients and lenders and ensuring outcomes are delivered. He places importance on being reliable and solution-focused in those interactions.

Milestones
Client engagement begins with listening and establishing a clear view of their position, objectives and constraints. From there, Radford structures a solution based on those factors. Experience working throughout a wide geographic area allows him to bring context, supporting decision-making with insight drawn from similar situations.
As demand has grown, Radford identifies maintaining standards as the primary challenge. He manages this by setting expectations and building a team that shares the values and level of accountability required. His approach is to address issues early, before they affect clients, the team, or the quality of outcomes delivered.
He points to Homestead Agribusiness itself as his most significant achievement. The business has built a reputation for consistently delivering outcomes in a competitive market, with that consistency in varying conditions forming the basis of its market position.

Over the past 12 months, consistency has underpinned his performance. Radford points to a clear understanding of lender appetite, well-structured deals and the ability to move quickly when opportunities arise as the drivers of results in a tighter market. He also highlights the role of client education, particularly in more complex areas such as interest rate hedging and risk management, as part of building capability and enabling clients to act with confidence.
“Ultimately, it comes back to doing the fundamentals well, every time, while lifting client capability alongside it,” he says.
That focus carries through to how relationships are built and maintained, as Radford sets his sights on the long-term. He attributes growth, in part, to referrals and repeat work, linking retention to trust and being available when it matters.
Delivering for clients is defined in structural terms. Radford focuses on outcomes that support a client’s position over the longer term, with communication playing a central role throughout the process.
“If the outcome aligns with the client’s objectives, supports their business through the cycle and there are no surprises along the way, that’s a successful result,” he adds.
His work is concentrated in agribusiness and commercial lending for primary producers and regional clients. This includes farm acquisitions, expansion, refinancing, working capital and more complex lending structures. A key element of the approach is a focus on succession planning, working with rural families to structure finance that supports generational transition, continuity of ownership and long-term sustainability, often involving complex family and business considerations.
