Hosper Mortgage once again emerged with glowing reviews in this year’s Brokers on Lenders report, winning gold medals across the board – not to mention the overall gold medal – after achieving spectacular results last year.
Turnaround time, underwriter support, overall service levels, product range, broker support, technology, transparency of commission structures… no matter the category, Hosper received outstanding marks from mortgage brokers. That’s partly because broker feedback is the main reason behind the company’s success as a lender, according to broker relationship manager Jerry Wieliczko, who told CMP that their needs underpin every aspect of Hosper’s performance.
“We listen to what our broker partners need most: quick responses, speedy closings, and surprise-free commitments,” he says.
“We bake these three service essentials into every deal that we close so that our broker partners can focus on what matters most: keeping their clients happy.”
The value of brokers to Hosper is demonstrated by the fact that 100% of its business comes from the broker channel, with those mortgage professionals remaining a priority as the leading private lender deftly navigated the abrupt increase in the prime interest rate this year, Wieliczko adds.
“We carefully considered how adjusting our rates would affect our brokers’ ability to find suitable solutions for their clients,” he explains.
“Hosper rates have risen only marginally compared to bank rates, meaning the pricing gap between bank products and our extremely flexible private products is as competitive as ever.”
While the company’s service levels were viewed as the cream of the crop by Canadian brokers this year, Wieliczko says the secret behind that success is “really quite simple”: Hosper puts its broker partners first and understands that brokers value fast service and dislike surprises either up front or at discharge.
“Not only is Hosper quick to reply and close, but we indicate terms and provisions up front so the broker and client know exactly what is to be expected throughout their term,” he says.
With that sterling reputation among brokers top of mind, how should they get involved with Hosper or find out more? The company’s products are available on all major partner portals including Lendesk, Velocity, and Filogix, with email submissions also welcome (deals@hospermortgage.com) as well as text submissions (416 896 7552).
Wieliczko emphasizes Hosper’s message to brokers that the company is always ready to provide guidance or assistance on a file, no matter the issue: “Please feel welcome to contact us anytime. No question is too big or too small – we’re happy to help.”
Ultimately, the company’s success in this year’s Brokers on Lenders ranking – not to mention the high marks it achieved in previous years – neatly reflects what Wieliczko defines as a key priority and core mission: the desire to be the first-choice alternative to a conventional lender for brokers and their clients.
“If you haven’t already, come give Hosper a try,” he says, “and find out why we’ve been voted Canada’s top alternative lender for the third year standing.”
