Profile
Anant Bawa is a mortgage broker and the co-founder and CEO of Autowrite, an AI operating system built for mortgage professionals.
He entered the mortgage industry in 2023 and worked his way up to his current role. Through that experience, he saw firsthand how much of a broker’s time was consumed by paperwork, document review, application preparation, and compliance instead of advising clients and structuring deals.
Bawa built Autowrite to solve those problems. The platform uses AI to automate the administrative work surrounding a mortgage file, helping brokers complete files in minutes instead of hours while keeping professional judgment human.
Following beta testing and a pilot with one of Ontario’s largest brokerages, Autowrite has grown to more than 200 users shortly after launch and continues to expand rapidly.
His work earned him the 2025 DLC FC Funding Innovation Award and recognition as a 2026 Canadian Mortgage Professional Rising Star. In 2026, he was also named a Canadian Mortgage Awards Excellence Awardee for Innovator Champion of the Year, while Autowrite was named an Excellence Awardee for Industry Service Provider of the Year.
His long-term vision is to build the AI operating system for the Canadian mortgage industry, giving every broker an intelligent assistant that handles administration so they can focus on advice, strategy, and relationships.
