Carla Giles is a transformative leader with a proven track record of driving change in the mortgage brokering industry. She serves as the CEO of the Mortgage Brokers Association of BC (CMBA-BC), executive director of the Canadian Mortgage Brokers Association (CMBA National), and CEO of the Mortgage Brokers Institute of BC. Her journey in the industry began in early 2022 after nearly a decade promoting sustainability practices in the green building sector.
Giles is dedicated to elevating the visibility and profile of mortgage brokers at both national and international levels. She sits on the Board of Governors of the International Mortgage Broker Federation and serves as editor of Canadian Mortgage Broker magazine. In these roles, she collaborates with stakeholders to drive innovation and tackle the most pressing challenges facing mortgage professionals. Known for designing and implementing impactful programs, Giles continues to champion the success of mortgage brokers across British Columbia and beyond.
With a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Computing Science, an MA in sustainability, and an executive MBA, Giles brings a diverse and highly relevant skill set to her work. She is also a Certified Association Executive and an EcoDistricts Accredited Professional, with expertise in digital transformation.
Giles is passionate about sustainability and advancing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) practices. As a board member of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society – British Columbia (CPAWS-BC), she champions leadership that transforms how we finance and manage conservation to ensure ecological, social, and financial sustainability.
