Alana Riley is a results-driven executive leader known for building and inspiring high-performing, diverse teams. With a broad and accomplished career in financial services, she has led teams of over 1,000 employees across wealth management, mortgages and banking, insurance, estate and trust, and small- to medium-sized business lines.
As head of mortgage, insurance and banking, Riley sits on the executive leadership team, shaping the strategic direction and execution of independent business lines. She oversees product performance, distribution models, and works closely with partners to ensure risk and cash management solutions are seamlessly integrated into the financial planning experience. Her responsibilities span strategic partnerships, capital allocation, financial risk management, digital transformation, and full P&L oversight.
Riley also serves as president and CEO of IG Trust Co. and as board chair/director of IG Insurance Services Inc. Her academic credentials include an MBA from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Windsor, an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors, and ACC certification from the International Coaching Federation.
Deeply committed to her community, Riley volunteers as a board director, coach, and mentor. She is passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion, having launched the National Women of Wealth program and frequently speaking on these topics. As a mother of three, including a child with special needs, she advocates for inclusion and has contributed to organizations like the Global Accessibility Advisory Group. Riley’s leadership has been recognized with awards such as Wealth Manager of the Year (Women in Finance Canada) and Board Ready (Women in Capital Markets).

A significant part of his focus today is staying ahead of regulatory change while maintaining a seamless client experience. He tracks updates from regulators and lenders closely and works with his teams to adjust systems as needed.
“My approach to my role and my career has always been rooted in passion, focus, and a relentless pursuit of excellence,” he says. “I’ve never been driven solely by profit or business metrics. I believe in hiring great talent, trusting them, and pushing boundaries because innovation doesn’t come from playing it safe.”
His experience isn’t limited to Canada. Ibrahim has worked in the US and UAE, which shaped his global perspective and comfort with adapting to different markets. He thrives on risk, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to progress.
