Tara Somerset is a dynamic executive and respected thought leader in mortgage servicing, underwriting, and business process outsourcing (BPO). As Senior Vice President of Servicing and B2B Partnerships at Nesto Group, she oversees one of Canada’s largest BPO operations, managing more than 100,000 mortgage loans and $27 billion in assets under administration. Leading a team of 225 professionals across eight functional areas, she is renowned for her focus on operational excellence, robust risk management, and building strong client partnerships.
Somerset’s strategic leadership was instrumental in seamlessly integrating servicing teams after Nesto’s acquisitions of CMLS and Intellifi, harmonizing operations, technology, and service delivery to drive efficiency and growth. She has spearheaded the expansion of BPO, software, and backup servicing solutions for new lenders and government mandates, further cementing Nesto’s reputation as an industry innovator.
A recognized influencer, Somerset consistently delivers DBRS-rated top-tier performance and created the “Roadmap to Success” program, empowering teams with 12 essential industry skill sets. She also leads the POW (Performance Objective Workbook) initiative, fostering a culture of data-driven management.
Deeply committed to leadership development and equity, Somerset champions mentorship and co-founded Female Leaders of Today (FLT) to support women in the mortgage sector while also advocating for male allyship to build inclusive workplaces.
