Profile
With a diverse background spanning business, travel, and humanitarian work – and supported by a strong entrepreneurial foundation – Scott McKay Wood has earned over 12 years of experience as a mortgage broker.
Before entering finance, he built and operated successful tourism ventures, including a major hop-on, hop-off bus company in Vancouver, gaining valuable expertise in leadership, operations, and customer experience.
Wood’s passion for travel has taken him across the globe, including East Africa, where he has lived, worked, and contributed to humanitarian and community development initiatives. Along the way, he has collaborated on various projects with the Red Cross, Foreign Affairs Canada, and the United Nations. These experiences have shaped his global perspective and deep appreciation for culture and service.
Fluent in French, Swahili, and Mandarin – and conversational in Spanish – Wood builds meaningful relationships across diverse communities. At home, he is a devoted husband and a father of two energetic children, with whom he shares a love of adventure, exploration, and giving back. He is also a beekeeper and chicken keeper committed to sustainability and self-reliance.
Grounded in faith, discipline, and service, Wood actively supports his church and community, bringing authenticity, cultural awareness, and purpose to everything he does.

“A message is only as strong as the receiver’s ability to understand it. Good intent isn’t enough if the client can’t clearly see the benefits and trade-offs”
