Yvonne Ziomecki-Fisher’s story is one of hard work, perseverance, and determination. An immigrant from Poland at 18 years old, she is now the executive vice president for marketing and sales at HomeEquity Bank, where she is responsible for developing sales, marketing strategy, and corporate vision.
Since the beginning of her tenure, Ziomecki-Fisher has set her sights on raising awareness and dispelling misconceptions about HomeEquity Bank’s retirement solutions. She has formulated disruptive, creative strategies while showing the bank’s target market (Canadians aged 55 and older) that they are heard and truly understood. Her persistence and vision have prevailed, and today, the impact of HomeEquity Bank’s brand communications is undeniable.
With over two decades of experience in marketing, specifically in financial services, Ziomecki-Fisher has an innovative approach to connecting with HomeEquity Bank’s target demographic and has led the company to new heights. In 2021, HomeEquity Bank reported over $1 billion in reverse mortgage originations for the first time. This milestone represents a 28% increase over the figure in 2020. The value of the bank's total reversemortgage portfolio under management stood at $5.4 billion as of December 2021, further cementing its reputation as Canada's undisputed market leader.
In addition to having an impressive career, Ziomecki-Fisher is the co-author of Home Run: The Reverse Mortgage Advantage, a book that guides Canadians on how to unlock the value of their biggest asset, helping them feel confident and better informed about their retirement options.
Ziomecki-Fisher credits her success to the strong female leaders and role models she has looked up to over the years. She is committed to paying her advantages forward by mentoring a number of women in her network and providing advice on managing professional challenges, career advancement, and personal development.
