Rene Quercia is the senior vice president of the broker channel at HomeEquity Bank, the company behind CHIP Reverse Mortgage. In this role, he is focused on expanding and supporting the broker channel to help brokers make the CHIP Reverse Mortgage a key part of their offerings for Canadians aged 55 and better.
With over 37 years of experience in the financial services industry, Quercia has held numerous executive leadership positions, including 10 years at TD Bank, where he led the mortgage sales division. There, he was responsible for overseeing national sales teams of more than 1,000 mortgage specialists and managing the mortgage broker channel, which together accounted for more than two-thirds of TD’s new mortgage originations. Quercia was instrumental in transforming the bank’s distribution model by streamlining processes, working with third-party operators, and building strong relationships to grow market share through the broker channel.
Quercia’s leadership is defined by his ability to build and scale businesses, mentor talent, and deliver strong customer experiences and financial results across Canada. He is known for being an authentic, inspirational leader who fosters an inclusive, high-performance culture and has a talent for attracting diverse teams and creating a sense of shared purpose.
Outside of his professional work, Quercia is deeply committed to giving back to his community. He lives in Oakville with his wife and has spent the past three years volunteering on the Loan Review Committee at Rise, a national organization that empowers Canadians with mental health and addiction challenges to achieve greater economic and social inclusion through entrepreneurship training, small business loans and custom supports.
