Jenny Matano is a dedicated mortgage adviser whose work is guided by a simple principle: people always come first. Being named one of the 2026 Elite Women winners is an honour she is genuinely grateful for, but she doesn’t see it as a personal victory – it is, to her, a recognition of the people she works with every day and the trust they place in her.
Working with first home buyers, families and business owners, Matano is especially passionate about supporting Pasifika and Māori communities, who remain under-represented in home ownership in New Zealand. She believes that helping families secure a home is about more than finance – it is about building stability, security and a better future.
In a sector where women were once rare, Matano is proud to be part of a growing wave of female leaders in financial services who are owning their space and driving meaningful change, all while staying grounded in her values and authentic way of working.
She also credits her success to the support of others – mentors, colleagues, clients, friends, and whānau – whose belief in her has been instrumental throughout her journey as a mortgage adviser.
