“My strongest professional quality is my ability to build trust and long-term relationships, whether with clients, colleagues, or stakeholders”
Danny Ibrahim,

Claire McArthur’s journey from starting as a bank teller in 2008 to being named NZA’s Top Adviser of 2025 is a testament to her bold choices and unwavering commitment to her clients. After a decade at Westpac, where she rose to commercial manager, she took a leap in 2018 to become a self-employed mortgage adviser, motivated by a desire to offer truly personal, tailored advice.
In 2019, she founded Claire McArthur Mortgages, building her boutique firm around a warm, approachable style that puts clients at ease and empowers them to make confident decisions. Her dedication hasn’t gone unnoticed – she has earned back-to-back recognition as one of NZA’s Elite Women (2024 and 2025) and multiple award nominations with the Kiwi Adviser Network.
In 2025, McArthur joined The Advisory under SHARE NZ as key adviser and director, expanding her reach to offer mortgages, insurance, and Kiwisaver solutions, all while keeping her clients’ needs at the centre of every recommendation. She believes that the best advice is always human, never just transactional. Her award is a reflection of her passion for making the complex simple and celebrating every client success, big or small.
Outside of work, McArthur loves walking Karioitahi Beach with her partner and their three rescue dogs, hitting up CrossFit sessions and discovering new spots for quick getaways.
