Serendipity led Supreet Mahey into the finance world, where his curiosity about the workings of the mortgage advising industry turned into a true calling.
He seized an opportunity to purchase a Mike Pero Mortgages franchise, leveraging his prior experience as a mortgage adviser to set his business up for success. His outstanding performance earned recognition as one of NZA’s Top Advisers of 2024 by exceeding the $50 million threshold in residential loans from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024.
Mahey’s approach is deeply client centred. He takes pride in making his clients feel comfortable and at ease, prioritising the building of trusting relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout the mortgage lending process.
“I have had many achievements throughout my career, and I’ve had the opportunity to help clients when there was no hope,” says Mahey. “I helped them achieve their financial goals after they tried the main banks directly or other mortgage advisers with no success.”
He acknowledges the biggest challenge in his current role involves managing stress levels when working under tight deadlines, with clients relying on his ability to “work magic” to get them across the line. Despite the high-pressure demands, Mahey navigates these challenges by staying positive and approaching each situation with optimism.
For this proactive mortgage adviser, keeping up to date on bank policies and myriad other changes in the fast-moving market is all in a day’s work as he strives to offer the best possible customer service. Mahey leverages Google campaigns and Facebook to attract and retain clients, and he conducts annual client reviews to cement the long-term relationships he values most.
Client satisfaction is a cornerstone of his business philosophy, underscored by an unwavering commitment to acting on customer feedback to ensure his services meet and exceed their expectations.
Looking to the future, Mahey plans to focus on improving the firm’s systems and processes, building effective teams, and continuing to deliver top-quality service and advice.
