Harsha Dahyea has built her career by saying yes to opportunity and then delivering against it at scale.
Named an Elite Woman 2026 by Mortgage Introducer, Dahyea is chief commercial officer at Quantum Mortgages, where she has helped shape the lender from its earliest stages.
She began in banking as a part-time customer service representative while studying marketing and economics, quickly recognising the breadth of opportunity within financial services. After graduating, she progressed into an assistant manager role and trained as a branch manager at HFC Bank, which was later acquired by HSBC. In that role, she built a strong commercial foundation and practical understanding of risk and performance.
A move to the State Bank of India as an investment business development manager broadened her remit across the UK and international markets. When the bank entered the buy-to-let sector, she completed her CeMAP qualification and supported its launch into the intermediary mortgage market, deepening her understanding of how strategy, regulation and distribution shape lender growth.
At Quantum Mortgages, she has played a central role in building and leading the sales and distribution function during sustained growth. With the backing of founder and CEO Jason Neale, she helped shape the business from day one. As of February 2026, Quantum’s loan book stands at £758 million. In just over a year, the lender launched a bridging proposition and is preparing to enter the specialist residential market. Dahyea has overseen the introduction of three verticals across three markets.
“It reinforces my belief that when strategy, trust and execution are aligned, sustainable growth follows,” she says.
Balancing growth with culture remains one of her most persistent challenges. She stays close to the business and her people, prioritising open dialogue and removing barriers that prevent teams from doing their best work. She encourages autonomy and rejects micro-management. Accountability underpins her leadership as she takes ownership of commitments and expects delivery within agreed timeframes.
Her strongest professional quality is effective communication and the ability to influence decision-making constructively. She identifies talent early and supports individuals with genuine potential, helping them progress while holding herself to high standards.
Dahyea also has a strong instinct for identifying market gaps. One defining achievement was leading Quantum’s entry into the supported living sector. By understanding the challenges faced by landlords, the team developed a commercially viable and fair solution for an underserved part of the market.
As a woman in financial services, she built her career in leadership and sales environments that were predominantly male. Visibility of women in equivalent roles was limited, and progression opportunities were harder to access. She focused on building credibility and delivering results.
“Representation genuinely matters,” she remarks. “When women see other women leading, it expands their sense of what is possible.”
She does not measure herself against peers. The comparison that matters is who she was yesterday and whether she continues to grow as a leader. She believes progress in financial services is built collectively, through shared knowledge and women supporting one another.
Dahyea hopes to be remembered for launching and scaling multiple financial start-ups and for shaping what a modern specialist lender should look like. For her, legacy rests in the leaders she has mentored and the organisations they go on to build with commercial discipline and integrity.
